The Pipe shapes and styles

Pipe shapes on pipemagazine.com
Here is a chart to help you differentiate one from the other.
In my opinion, the most common is billiard, then bent billiard and apple.
My favorite is calabash, that shape is very cool with me.
If you are beginner, I recommend you that choice bent billiard or bent apple.
These shapes are so easy to use without technique, prevent heat and wet during smoke, and it nice too.
The straight one request some technique to not drink the liquid.
Some shapes are unique and hard to find like oom paul, tomahawk, vest pocket and freehand.
The Churchwarden is another one I like. It really long so smoke have time to cool down before come into my mouth, and the liquid can not reach my tongue.
I hope that chart will help you.

Peterson Saint Patrick's Day 2015 338 pipe Review

The Peterson Saint Patrick's Day 338 pipe
That Saint Patrick's Day series are the yearly product.
On the photo is version 2015 of this series.
It's a very nice pipe with green finish and the great classic pattern around the bowl.
It has green band, I guess that made by plastic or a kind of stone.
The P logo on stem that be painted by white, that is the weakness of this series, look so cheap.
In modern pipe, Peterson has not given the valued system, instead of 9mm filter that make tobacco strength milder and flavor not as good as they have.
This pipe have a long small bowl, that the shape what I love. Very easy to pack and take smoke, prevent of heat and wet.
After all, this pipe quite good, not too much but enough.
If you are a collector, you must have this pipe in your collection. But you are the smoker, please looking for an other pipe for great smoke.
Thank you for reading.
If you have any question, please feel free to contact me, I'll give you any thing of my knowledge.

How to smoke a pipe

Today, I gonna show you how to smoke a pipe.
The first is how to pack tobacco into the bore :
- I used to pack it by 3 times. First time, fill the bore with tobacco then tamp it down lightly to the half of bore. And then, fill the bore again with tobacco, tamp it down more hardly than the first time but not too tight. Finally fill the pipe one more time and tamp tobacco gently and give some puff to make sure it not to tight or too loose.

The second is how to light up the pipe :
- It usually take 2 or more times to light up completely. I offer to use the pipe lighter or normal butane lighter, do not use the pipe zippos or any petrol lighter because of the bad smell.
- First, take the lighter, light up into the bore and puff that "long and light". And then, the tobacco will expand and we have to tamp it down.
- Second light it up again, this time tobacco will keep the fire but not completely, keep puffing and tamp it down lightly.

Now the pipe will burn itself, keep smoking and enjoy it.

Peterson Pipe of the Year 2013 Review

The Peterson's Pipe of the Year 2013 pipe
Now I'll give you my experience about Peterson's Pipe of the Year 2013 pipe !
This is an amazing pipe with the large bowl !
The big bowl prevent your hand from heating. It very comfortable to hold, but the smoke quite hot and wet.
By using filter, you can reduce some liquid but the smoke still hot. The only way smoke cool and dry is smoke very slowly.
It has an unique shape and big silver band with the letter "P" on top. The stem made by Vulcanite with 9mm filter inside.
With me, it's a nice pipe in it's range. Good price, good look with value material.

Peterson Deluxe Review

The Peterson Deluxe 5s pipe

Now I'll give you my experience about Peterson's pipe !
My first pipe is Deluxe 5s as you seen at the picture
It has a medium bowl, a long and curve stem. So when you smoke, it quite cool and dry. The draw is good, and the flavour is particularly great in new pipes.
This pipe keep fire very good even when the windy. It pretty cool with me!
At the first look, it a nice pipe with shiny sterling silver band. This band keep the bowl not be broken while you smoke too hard or you take out the stem when it been hot !
For me, this pipe is quite unique, physical beauty and probably the best value range of pipes that Peterson produce.
